The Woman Behind Luna
Susanna, a 40-year-old Hungarian native, is married to a Seychellois and the proud “mum” of two fur babies. Her story is one of resilience, hard work, and a relentless drive to achieve her dreams. She began her career in Budapest, Hungary, facing challenges many can relate to. At just 16, she started working at a local supermarket in her home town before moving into bar work, spa supply, real estate, and massage therapy.
Her teachers once wondered, “What will the beetle be made of?” a Hungarian saying symbolizing untapped potential.
Despite facing hardships, Luna’s determination drove her to become a successful entrepreneur in Seychelles.
“I never thought about going to Seychelles. It could have been anywhere, but Seychelles truly called me,” she says with a radiant smile. Her decision to move was largely

Luna moved to Seychelles in 2003
Why Seychelles?
Luna’s move to Seychelles wasn’t an easy one. While she could have expanded her business in Germany or Hungary, she felt a strong, intuitive pull toward this peaceful island in the Indian Ocean. “It was my intuition that guided me,” she shares. After overcoming a few obstacles, Luna successfully obtained her business license, despite the challenges of starting up in a country that wasn’t yet ready for such changes.
Her first spa was located on a mountain, offering a peaceful environment with views of dolphins jumping in the sea. But running a spa in such a remote location had its challenges, especially when the weather made access difficult.
“I trusted in God to guide me, and He always has,” she says with her determination shining through.
The Birth of Luna Med Spa
As Luna continued her work in Seychelles, she noticed the effects of the tropical climate on the locals’ skin; pigmentation issues, acne, and scarring were common. It was then that she realized what was missing in this enchanting paradise: high-quality, natural skincare products.
One of the most beautiful things Luna shared with me was the wisdom passed down from her mother and grandmother. Drawing inspiration from her grandmother, who believed that “in God’s garden, there is everything we need,” This saying meant that everything we need in life; love, strength, and guidance is already around us, like how a garden has everything needed for plants to grow. And Luna’s mother, on the other hand, taught her the importance of independence. She believed that standing on her own two feet, being self-sufficient and protecting her skin at a very young age.
“My mum pushed me to use products at an early age to keep my skin youthful, hydrated, and healthy.”
Luna began studying natural ingredients and crafting her formulations.
“I started studying organic natural products in Dubai, testing ingredients and developing my own recipes,”
“Ingredients are easy to find, but balancing them was the challenge,” Luna recalls with a laugh. “But everything is in nature you just need to know how to use it.” she explains laughing about her early struggles.
She began creating her own skincare line.
Despite early challenges, such as water and fat separating in her first homemade skincare mix that she persevered. With time, she invested in a small mixing machine to help streamline production. She credits her success to the natural, high vibrational energy ingredients she uses, which promote balance and healthy skin. Her persistence paid off, and today, Luna Med Spa offers a range of bio-organic, vegan, and locally inspired products.
Finding Her Chestnut
In Hungary, finding your “chestnut” means discovering your passion, and for Luna, that was creating natural, organic skincare products. Her journey began with trial and error, crafting formulas by hand and testing them on herself, family, and clients.
“I never knew this was my dream and passion. I had to try new career paths to know what my chestnut was.” Luna admits.
“To find your chestnut means to find your passion; that one thing that makes your heart beat a little bit faster, makes your smile a little bit wider, and makes your heart and soul happier.” She explains.
Creating Products with Love and Energy
Luna believes in the power of organic ingredients to heal the skin, and she invests not only in her products but also in her clients. “It’s about the love and energy I put into it,” she says. She carefully selects ingredients from local plants, such as coconut oil, aloe vera, mango and so many more. She creates custom skincare routines tailored to each client’s needs.
“I invest in my clients, not just my business,” Luna explains. “Their feedback shapes every product I create.”
Her product line includes a variety of skincare kits, with one client purchasing up to one kilo every month! These products are available at top hotels in Seychelles, with each hotel having its own signature essential oil and massage creams. At the core of Luna Med Spa lies a simple yet profound belief: prevention is better than cure.
“For me, my motto is all about prevention. Prevention before pigmentation starts, before acne starts to break out, and before starting to get scars. But if it is there, we will treat it.” She explains.

“I named my products after the Gods and Godess and my SPA edition after the islands of Seychelles: for example Mahé is the main island, is one of my locally pressed coconut oil, very unique COCO DE MER of Seychelles is my 100” pure coconut oil, Silhouette island, only 100 souls living on a small island. I love to use local frangipani, patchouli, vanilla, lemongrass, aloe vera and cinnamon as well.”- She saying proudly.

“I have one client who buys a kilo almost every month!” she says proudly.

She emphasizes that everything put on the skin should be natural and organic because it also enters the bloodstream.
“My products are food-grade, but I do not advise!” She said humorously; meaning her products are edible and very much safe and organic.
“It’s also about the love and energy I put into it. The natural organic products made from trees, flowers, and roots have high energy frequencies that feel good and promote balance and a healthy skin barrier.”
Her products are specially designed to suit all skin types, with formulations that promote healthy skin renewal. Luna also advises clients to take daily supplements to support skin health from the inside out.
The Road to Success
Susanna’s journey was not without hurdles. Obtaining business licenses in Seychelles took months, and her initial attempts at creating products were fraught with challenges. “My first mix had water and fat floating. It was a mess,” she laughs. But her perseverance paid off. Today, Luna Med Spa is a thriving business, exporting products to the USA with a warehouse in New York and an online shop for global clients.
“It was a fortune teller who I went to and told me I will have an idea that just comes to mind and this idea will become big. I did not think anything of it and just carried on my days as I usually did, until I realized my organic natural based products were the idea she was talking about.” She admits
Her dedication extends beyond products. Luna works closely with clients, conducting skin analyses and tailoring treatments to their unique needs. “Invest in people, not just the business.” She says happily.

Luna Med Spa’s success is deeply tied to Susanna’s love for Seychelles. “I’m mesmerized by the lush nature, the sea, and the peaceful life here. It’s unlike anywhere else,” she shares.
Her spa, now located in the tranquil Beau Vallon area, offers clients a serene escape. Surrounded by forestry and the sound of chirping birds, it’s a place where beauty meets nature.
Looking ahead, Susanna envisions Luna Med Spa as a global brand. “I want everyone to experience the luxury of organic skincare,” she says confidently. “But Seychelles will always be home.”

As Luna continues to grow her brand, she remains rooted in her values of authenticity and love. “I am the company. I would love to market my products worldwide, but I will always keep my spa in Seychelles. This island is my home, my peace, and my inspiration,” she says with pride.

Luna Med Spa is no longer a local secret. With products now available in the USA through a New York warehouse, Luna’s vision of bringing organic luxury skincare to the world is becoming a reality.
Her commitment to quality is unwavering. All her products are vegan, cruelty-free, and SBS approved. “I’ve invested so much in Seychelles, even before the business started,” she says. “I’m proud to be the first to export my own authentic skincare brand from Seychelles,” she shares.
Luna’s products are not only popular in Seychelles but also in Hungary, where they are in high demand. Even at the pub where she used to work, her flyers are displayed proudly. “Your health is your luxury,” Luna says quoting to a client who initially preferred expensive, chemically infused creams but eventually became one of Luna’s biggest supporters after trying her organic products.

To aspiring entrepreneurs, especially women, Susanna offers heartfelt advice: “Discipline, humility, and continuous learning are key. always be open-minded, be humble and move with the times. Find your passion - your ‘chestnut’ and let it guide you. Barriers will come, but they are blessings that shape you into who you’re meant to be.”

As for the name Luna? “It’s special to me. It was the name of my first spa in Hungary, and it’s become a part of who I am,” she says with pride.
