Romeo Hunte 'Ivy Noir' Rewrites the Uniform for SS27

The Romeo Hunte "Ivy Noir" is a Spring/Summer 2027 collection that takes the codes of collegiate dressing and strips them of their predictability. The blazer becomes oversized. The schoolboy silhouette becomes sensual. The classic uniform gets darker, sharper, and far more rebellious.

Presented during New York Fashion Week at House of Spells in Times Square, Ivy Noir felt less like a traditional lesson in prep and more like an invitation to break the dress code.

Hunte's collection lives in the tension between polish and provocation. Tailored jackets, button-downs, collegiate crests, denim, leather, and athletic references establish a familiar American vocabulary. But the styling refuses to leave those pieces untouched. Proportions shift. Skin becomes part of the silhouette. Classic separates collide with unexpected layering, dramatic outerwear, and expressive accessories.

From a daytime appointment to a late-night dinner, from a gallery opening to a fashion industry gathering, Ivy Noirunderstands that contemporary wardrobes have to move between worlds. The collection offers recognizable pieces but encourages the wearer to style them differently.

Notable talent including Yaya DaCosta, Wendell Lissimore, and Lavaud appeared as part of the presentation, while the event attracted figures from music, entertainment, fashion, and culture.

Romeo Hunte's universe has never existed exclusively inside the fashion system. His work naturally moves between celebrity dressing, street culture, entertainment, and luxury fashion. Ivy Noir continues that conversation by creating a collection that can live on the runway while remaining connected to the culture outside of it.
