A little history
The construction of the Plaza Hotel began in 1905. October 1, 1907 the first guests were able to see the finished project.
The 21-story French Renaissance building was designed by Henry Janeway Hardenberg.
Against the backdrop of the majestic skyscrapers of New York, the hotel looked quite worthy.
On the ground floor it is possible to find the Oak Room, the Oak Bar, the Edwardian Room, the Palm Court, and the Terrace Room. On the upper floors, in addition to hotel rooms, there is a ballroom.
In February 1964, the British group The Beatles stayed at the hotel during their first visit to New York.
Scenes were filmed here for such famous films as "Spider-Man", "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York", "Big Business", "Crocodile Dundee", "War of Brides", "Lucky Chance", "Eloise at the Plaza" ...
The debut of the hotel in a big movie took place in 1959. It was a movie: "North by Northwest."
In 2017, a special travel offer was developed in honor of the 25th anniversary of the premiere of Home Alone 2.
The guests of the hotel were offered to be in the place of the movie character Kevin McCallister and use all the services that the boy paid for with his dad's credit card.

Until the end of the 20th century, the hotel underwent renovations. The Plaza was closed for the last reconstruction on April 30, 2005.
The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission has listed the building as a National Historic Landmark.
